September 1926 – August 2024
Herman White passed away on August 17, 2024 at the age of 97. Herman was born in September of 1926 in Bowie, Texas to Robert and Myrtle (Marsh) White. Herman enlisted in the United States Army in 1944 and received his honorable discharge in 1946. He settled in Turlock for the last 50 plus years. He drove a truck for Swanson’s which later became Associated Feed for 42 years. Herman even made the cover of Trucker magazine. Herman enjoyed taking his boat out for fishing. Herman was very proud to be a WWII Veteran. Herman put on many miles driving a truck delivering feed and loved to stop at Blueberry Hill Cafe in Livingston, where he took his granddaughter Shawnea every chance he got. Shawnea really loved sharing strawberry pancakes with her grandfather.
In his later years, Herman got much enjoyment out of attending his grandsons Christian and Ethan’s many soccer and basketball games. Herman even played soccer and basketball with them well into his 80’s!
Herman is survived by his wife Kathy White; stepdaughter Robin Montanez; grandchildren David Parma, Carol Cummings, Charlie Fakes Jr., Shawnea Ramer, Christian Montanez, and Ethan Montanez. He is preceded in death by his daughter Maureen White, one sister, and one brother.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2024 from 4pm – 6pm at Allen Mortuary.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 11am at Lakewood Memorial Park.
