Virginia Helen Perkins gained her wings Thursday August 27th, 2024, at the age of 79 surrounded by loved ones as she peacefully joined her husband in heaven. Virginia was born April 21, 1945 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Bertha and Charles Hagens. Virginia was less than a year old when her family traveled to California to make it their home. She attended all 13 years of her education in Denair school district. She graduated Denair High in 1964, shortly after she attended beauty college.
On February 15th, 1965 Virginia married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Carlos Perkins. They enjoyed a happy love filled marriage full of unforgettable memories and laughter. They welcomed their first child, son Kenneth Perkins in 1966 and their second, daughter Shelly Yotsuya in 1967. In addition to her children, Virginia is survived by her sisters Betty Bell, Patricia Walton and Kathy Turnbull, brothers Jerry, Donnie, Danny and Carl Hagens, daughter in law Rachelle Perkins, grandchildren Mikyla Yotsuya and fiancé Josh Montano, Jenesa and husband Austin Reed, Cameron and Sheldon Perkins and great grandson Jaxon Montano. Virginia is also survived by many relatives and friends whom she loved dearly.
Virginia was a full-time homemaker. She loved sewing, crocheting, making various craft projects and gardening. But above all else she loved her family and friends. When she wasn’t found crafting, she was often doing hair for others at her dining room table. Virginia and Carlos spent most weekends with family and friends BBQing, swimming and playing horseshoe and dice. Virginia had a very loving kind spirit and tender heart. Their home was full of activity whether it be the football team after practice, a pool full of kids or a game of baseball everyone was welcome. Virginia spent most of her 79 years in the small town of Denair, CA and was well known and loved by the whole community.
Virginia lived a life full of love, laughter and happy times, she would want us to reflect on those memories when thinking of her. Virginia is preceded in death by both parents Bertha and Charles Hagens, beloved husband Carlos Perkins, brother Eugene Hagens and son in law Robert Bolin.
Virginia’s life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, she is loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
