Violet was born to Samuel and Vera Dove on 4-30-1933 in Kansas. At some point, they moved to California. While living in Delhi, Violet graduated from Livingston High School. Violet married Rod Rodriquez and they lived in Livingston, California before moving to Texas, where she helped run a construction company. When we moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico, she started working the night shift in a nursing home.
She moved back to California early 1968. She raised us four kids on her own, she also put herself through school and became an LVN.
She started working at Emanuel where she got her RN’s license, then she retired after working 26 ½ years. She continued working in the nursing field until she couldn’t do it anymore.
She was a very great mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a great great grandmother.
She will be missed so much. She finally slowed down after a very long life, then we moved her with Monica until she went home to be with her family and the Lord.
She finally decided to slow down and enjoy life with her family, going to events for her grandkids and great grandkids. She also loved attending her church until she was unable to, then she would watch it live. God finally called her home to be with him in the comfort of her earthly home. She is now rejoicing with her family and Lord. She will be dearly missed by us all.
She is survived by her children Samuel Rodriguez of Merced, Monico (Julio) Rodriguez of Merced, Monica (Chris) Shehan of Denair, Angela Mesa of Turlock, and Paula Ward of Montana, her sister Linda Brown of Turlock, 30 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her son Mariano Rodriguez, parents Samuel and Vera Dove, her brother William Dove, her sisters Betty Warley and Joyce Boggs, and great great granddaughter Nickalle Elhers.
Visitation will be held from 5pm to7pm on Wednesday, October 23 at Allen Mortuary. A funeral will be held at 11am on Thursday, October 24 at New Beginnings Christian Center, 9711 Stephens St. in Delhi. Interment will be made at Turlock Memorial Park.
