Larry Lee Harry
Mar 2, 1947 – May 16, 2024
After 77 years of living a wonderful life that his family will forever be indebted to, Larry gained his wings after instantly hearing that beloved bell. After growing up in the countryside of Delhi during the 1950s, he went on to serve as a rescue helicopter pilot in the US Air Force, including time in Vietnam. In 1971, he married the love of his life, Joyce Harry, and together they raised three sons. He dedicated his career to working for the city of Turlock, spending long days under the sun to provide for his family. He also spent many years helping to maintain his favorite helicopter at Castle Air Force Museum, sharing his knowledge and experiences with visitors. For decades, he was well known as a proud member of WHEAT and for showcasing his antique engines at the Turlock Fair. A devoted Seventh Day Adventist, he was a man who had great love and honor for God and went with his family every Sunday to church.
His social, facetious, and giving nature touched all who knew him, and he will be greatly missed by his family and many dear friends. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce Harry, his sons, Timothy Harry, James Harry, and Michael Harry, and sister-in-law Sandra McVey.
A funeral service with military honors will be held at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery on Friday, October 25 at 2:30 PM, located at 32053 W McCabe Rd, Santa Nella, CA 95322.
