Louisa C. Allen
October 21, 1940 – November 13, 2024
Louisa Claire Allen (Martin), affectionately known to her friends and family as “Weezie,” passed away suddenly at her residence in Denair on November 13, 2024, at the age of 84. Born on October 21, 1940, in Ferndale, California, Louisa moved to Bakersfield before settling in Turlock at the age of 12. She was a proud graduate from the Turlock High School Class of 1958 and was instrumental in organizing their many reunions.
After high school, Louisa pursued her love for rock ‘n roll music, working at Music Lane in Turlock from ages 18 to 22. In 1961, she married the love of her life, Ron Allen, and they made their home in Denair where they raised their three children. Louisa dedicated 22 years of service to the Denair School District as a teacher’s aide before retiring. A thoughtful gesture that exemplified her kindness, she would cut out and laminate newspaper articles of Denair students’ achievements, sharing them with the students to honor their accomplishments usually with a positive, personal message.
Louisa served on the Denair School Board and was a member of Denair Athletic Boosters and Epsilon Omicron Sorority of Turlock. She volunteered in the gift shop at Emanuel Medical Center, was an avid reader, and an antique enthusiast with a booth until the end. Known for her kindness and social spirit, she touched the lives of all who knew her. So many people have posted how they would miss her good night message on Facebook which was a social outlet for Louisa and a connection with so many people from her very full life.
Louisa is survived by her loving husband, Ron; her children, Brent, Darrin, and Wendi (and husband John Cook); grandchildren Carson (and wife Samantha), Chase, and Quentin Allen, and Conner Cook; two great-granddaughters; nephews, nieces, cousins, and COUNTLESS friends. She is preceded in death by her brother, Louie Martin, and parents Annie Tosti and Frank Martin.
A celebration of Louisa’s life will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 1:00 PM starting at Allen Mortuary and continuing at the Denair Community Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Turlock American Legion Post 88, PO Box 128 Turlock, CA 95381 or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html
Family is grateful for the enormous kind messages that have already been received and find it fitting that her last day with us was on World Kindness Day.
