It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles Lee Colston, who passed away on January 4, 2025, at the age of 84.
Charles was born on September 5, 1940, in Illinois and later moved to Missouri, where he began his 55-year trucking career. He earned a prestigious million-mile ring during his time on the road, a testament to his dedication and skill. In the 1960s, Charles relocated to Turlock, California, where he planted roots and built a life filled with cherished memories.
In his younger years, Charles had a passion for riding motorcycles, enjoying the freedom of the open road. More recently, he could often be found at Cindy’s Restaurant, sharing stories and laughter with his beloved coffee crew.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Colston, in 1997, as well as his brother, Gary Colston, and his sister, Mary Jeanette Mathews.
He is survived by his three children: Anastasia Briggs, Michelle Colston, and Michael Colston. He also leaves behind two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and his brothers, Bill Colston and Joe Colston.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday, January 13, 2025, from 4 PM to 6 PM at Allen Mortuary.
A graveside service to honor Charles’s life will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 1 PM at Turlock Memorial Park.
Charles will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his dedication to family, work, and the friendships he cultivated over the years.
