George Lee Friel
January 23,1947 – January 24, 2025
George Friel passed away at his home in Merced California the morning of January 24, 2025. He was born in Colusa, California to George and Bea Friel.
George had a great love for the outdoors and enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, target shooting and just relaxing outside. He loved all those things but what he loved even more was spending time with his family and passing on his love for the outdoors to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and being able to sit back watching them love everything he did.
George is survived by his beloved wife Sharon Friel of 46 years of marriage, daughter Nicole, step-children Jimmy and Sheri, grandchildren Colton, Miranda, Sunny, Mindy, and grandchildren Travis and Hillary who he and Sharon raised. George also had 10 great-grandchildren including Layla who was his little mini me along with another great-grandson on the way.
George’s celebration of life will be held Saturday February 22, 2025 from 12pm-3pm at Stage Shop Gun Shop (601 Atwater Blvd, Atwater, CA 95301).
