Harold Russell of Patterson, California has passed away at the age of 89. He was born in Montgomery, Alabama to Daniel and Margret Russell. He was a standout football player at his high school and earned a college scholarship. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, where he would earn a Good Conduct Medal. After his service he worked for the railroads, which eventually led him to Patterson, CA where he would meet his wife, Rosemary Claire Russell. Together they would spend 33 years traveling, playing cards and laughing until her passing in March of 2001.
Harold was a person who loved his family, collecting coins and watching college football. Harold is survived by his daughter Jane Meuers, his granddaughter(s) Jennifer Eisberg, Kenna Bonneville, Brandy Kelly and Keri Donovan. He is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren.
Harold requested no service, as he was always a very private man. However, for those of us that knew him well, know he is to be celebrated in our hearts for his integrity, steadfastness and wicked sense of humor. You will be missed Papa.
