Lee Winifred Cook, age 82, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025, in Modesto, California. Born on November 13, 1942, in Los Angeles, California, she was the beloved daughter of Allen and Winifred Nichols.
Lee is survived by her loving husband, Greg Cook; her son, Ryan (Sharron) Cook; her daughters, Jamie Blocher and Kelly Eager; her niece, Rhonda Walker; her grandchildren, Brittany, Rowdy, Devin, Rashelle, Brian, and Christine and her 4 great grandchildren. She is also remembered by her extended family and many friends who cherished her presence in their lives.
Lee’s career spanned many years, beginning at St. General Hospital, where she worked for several years, contributing to the care and well-being of countless individuals. After her time St. General Hospital, Lee transitioned to Monte Vista Optometry in Turlock, California, where she worked for an impressive 27 years. Her strong work ethic, loyalty, and sense of humor made her a favorite among both customers and coworkers alike. Lee’s dedication to providing excellent service and building relationships within the community was evident to everyone who crossed her path.
Lee was a woman whose presence was felt the moment she entered a space. She had a gift of spreading warmth, happiness, and laughter wherever she went. Her beautiful energy was magnetic people couldn’t help but be drawn to her. With her radiant personality, she had a way of making everyone feel special and loved.
Lee was deeply loved by her family and friends. She had a special way of nurturing and loving those closest to her, and her bond with her children and grandchildren was immeasurable. She extended that same devotion to her beloved dogs and cats, who she loved as though they were her own children. The love she gave was unconditional, and her legacy will forever be felt by all who were lucky enough to know her.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 12:00pm to 5:oopm at The American Legion Hall 75 Bothun Road, Turlock, CA 95380
