Roland L. Russell

October 1954 ~ August 2019

Roland was born in San Mateo and raised in Hughson. He graduated from Hughson High School in 1972 and received a Bachelors Degree from Fresno Pacific. He served in the US Navy for a time and worked at Foster Farms Dairy for 27 years. Roland loved taking road trips, especially when they involved a stop at Phil’s Fish Market in Moss Landing.

He is survived by his wife Carla Russell; son Zach Russell; siblings Janet (Bob) Harper, Mary Jordan, Pat Mason, Molly (John) Flemate, Becky (George) Lefler and Jeannine (Ron) Bailey. He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Gloria Russell and brother Jerry Russell.

Donations can be made in Roland’s memory to Westside Ministries, P.O. Box 354, Turlock, CA 95381.

Memorial service will be held at Allen Mortuary on Friday, August 23, 2019 at 1:00p.m.

I have such wonderful memories of Roland. It’s like I can still see him sitting on the steps at Houston high school. He was a great wrestler and find a support on the wrestling team. He was a great friend so caring who is commenting always checking in. We will miss you Roland. Carla we will be praying for you. Much love

Roland will be missed immensely. I have such great memories of he & I working over dad’s warehouse scrubbing milk rust off the walls. His humor and the way he could spin a tale will always put a smile on my face when I think of him. Carla, we have you in our prayers. Rob, Kelly & family.

Carla, Gecondoleerd met het verlies van je geliefde man Roland. We hebben elkaar nooit persoonlijk ontmoet. Ons contact verliep door de afstand via Facebook. Hij kwam op mij over als een sterke en warme man. Ik wens jou, Zach en verdere familie heel veel sterkte om dit verlies te kunnen dragen.

Roland and I not only graduated together from Hughson High School, but begin our school careers in Kindergarten together. I have such great memories of all my classmates including Roland. Our class was unique in that most of us were all friends, no cliques or meanness toward anyone. I know Roland will be greatly missed by his family. We will also miss him on our class reunion meetings as well as at the reunions. He was a great guy!
