Marianna Greenlaw

July 31, 1939 – February 9, 2020

Marianna Greenlaw, born Marianna Jeanette Heath on July 31, 1939 in Meadville Pennsylvania left this world to be with Jesus at the age of 80 in Turlock California, due to health complications.

Mom lived quite a modest life that took her from Pennsylvania to Texas then to California.  She was the wife of a commercial fisherman for 21 years. Most of her time was devoted to child rearing and her family.  She had incredible faith and loved to sing, read her Bible and to be with her church family.  She reached out to all she knew, family, friends and strangers alike. She kept  treats with her at all times to share with others and used those treats to open dialogue to tell people that Jesus loved them and to share salvation.  She told crazy jokes to make people laugh.  She would say it didn’t matter if they were laughing at her or with her as long as they heard about Jesus and his love for them and they could leave her with a smile on their face.

She held positions throughout her life working in a bakery, a Convalescent home and as a Teachers aid.

She is survived by her 5 children, Pearl (Ken Braunschneider) Greenlaw, of New Castle California, David (Melody)  Greenlaw of Quitman, Texas, Ruthanne Castro  of Turlock, California, Clarence (Sherri) Greenlaw of Easley, South Carolina and April Lantz of Monroe  City, Missouri.  11 grandchildren, Amanda Slinkard, Stephanie Slinkard , Lindsay Strahlendorf,  Brandon Castro, Courtney Shepherd, Ashlyn Castro, David Greenlaw, Georgia Greenlaw, Blake Lantz, Jordan Lantz, Harmonie Lantz. 8 great-grandchildren. Asher, Bristo, Ophelia, Lincoln, Saxton and Reagan, Claria and Everett. And many other extended family members, brothers, sisters, aunts uncles nieces and nephews.  We will miss her and can’t imagine this life without her in it but rejoice knowing we will see her again. Rest in the arms of Jesus, Mama, We will keep your memory alive and will love you always.

Visitation will be held at Allen’s Mortuary on Thursday February 20th from 4-7. A private graveside service for the family is at Turlock Memorial Park Friday morning.
