Margie Vaughn was born in Judsonia, Arkansas to Lester and Frances Sterling. Her family moved to Madera, CA in 1944 and she graduated from Madera High School in 1952. While living in Madera, Margie met her future husband William “Bill” Vaughn and they were married on April 16, 1955 in Turlock.
Margie was an avid SF Giants and 49ers fan and enjoyed gardening, reading and photography which she won awards for her pictures. She worked for Banquet Foods from the mid 1970s until the plant closed in 1993. Margie and Bill were members of Turlock Motorcycle Club.
She is survived by her four children Gary Vaughn of Turlock, Karen Clinton of Mariposa, Sharon (David) Hillenga of Turlock and Carla (Donny) Hanson of Turlock; sister Mildred Bunch of Baker City, Oregon; brothers Lester (Janet) Sterling of Copperopolis, CA and Robert (Kelly) Sterling of Anderson, CA; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Margie was preceded in death by her husband Bill and her parents.
Viewing will be held at Allen Mortuary on Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 4:00-7:00p.m. Funeral will also be at Allen Mortuary on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 10:00a.m. with interment to follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
