February 12, 1944 – August 28, 2021
Jose Salvador Romo passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021 peacefully surrounded by his family at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto, CA after a brief illness.
Jose Salvador was born on February 12, 1944 in Comales, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Maria Oralia Rodriguez and Jose Salvador De Alba Romo. He married Maria Olga Barrera and had 6 children, Jorge Romo (Lettie), Luis Enrique I (deceased), Luis Enrique Romo II, Ricardo Romo (Mary), Christina Duran (Maurico) and Cindy Delgado (Miguel). Jose Salvador has 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Jose Salvador moved his family to Patterson, CA from Texas in 1982. Then to Newman, CA where he worked in agriculture for Cerruti Brothers. Jose Salvador enjoyed living in Newman with his family and loved farming. He proudly drove his Chevy truck that read “Reynosa” by the door. He was Californian, but a true Mexican at heart.
Jose Salvador is survived by Rosita Romo, who raised him. He is also survived by siblings Consuelo Romo de Garcia and family, Jesus Manuel Romo and family, Juany Romo de Lira and family, Jose Luis Romo Arvizu and family, Martin Romo Arvizu and family, Angelica Romo Arvizu and family, and Arturo Romo Arvizu and family. He was preceded in death by Sergio Romo (brother) and Maria Teresa Romo Lopez (sister).
Services will be held Friday, September 3, 2021 from 4pm – 7pm at Allen Mortuary at 247 N. Broadway, Turlock, CA.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Dr. Manuel Canga for their years of care, Doctors Medical Center, Brenda Macias with Noble Hospice, and Allen Mortuary.
