Sarah Ann Snyder December 16, 1973 - February 1, 2022

December 1973 ~ January 2022

Sarah Snyder has passed away at the age of 48.

She graduated from Turlock High School in 1992 where until recently she held a swimming record for the butterfly stroke. Sarah was a member of the Key Club during her high school years and would serve as their president during her senior year. In her adult life, Sarah was a youth group leader at the First United Methodist Church for about ten years. During that time she would not only provide a safe place for youth to hang out, but instill in them a love of service. She served with Sierra Service Project for four years as a high school youth, and nine years as an adult counselor.

Sarah was a shining example of character. Raising two boys, she made sure she instilled in them a love of service, a caring nature, and patience for those they may not agree with.

Some of her simple pleasures included building Legos, Dave Grohl the lead singer of the Foo Fighters, hiking in places new to her, reading and a good movie.

Sarah is survived by her two sons Teddy and Mason Snyder, her mother and step-father Priscilla and Jeffrey Faria, her father and step-mother Michael and Lauren Nickless, her half-brother Brian Nickless, and her half-sister Robin Rivera.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the First United Methodist Church on 1660 Arbor St. in Turlock. The Service will be held on March 1st at 1 o’clock in the afternoon.

In lieu of sending flowers, friends and family may make a donation to Sierra Service Project, her favorite non-profit organization.

Once you have submitted your condolence, it will be approved by our staff during office hours, then published on your loved one’s page.

Sarah was brought into my life by our mutual friend, Mindy. And how very thankful I am for that branch. She was never afraid to speak her mind, to know her own stance on an issue or to be willing to learn and grow. I think she was always growing. She was also one of the strongest women I have met – she had been through so much and still brought a shine to the room and laughter to your heart. She will be sorely missed but so many more than just me, but I am blessed to be amongst those that loved her and now will miss her. She was a blessing.

My deepest sympathies and love at this difficult time.
So many wonderful, fun memories with Sarah from growing up together. Sarah was a beautiful, kind and genuine person and a devoted and strong mother. She will always hold a special place in my heart and my Turlock stories. A life lost much, much too soon. Keeping Teddy, Mason, Priscilla and Jeff in my thoughts.

  3. Donna says

Sarah had a beautiful smile. It was the window to her heart. Sarah’s heart was full of love for her boys, her parents, her church family and especially the youth of her church. Sarah dedicated many years of her life to working with the high school aged your at Turlock First United Methodist Church. I had the pleasure of working at an SSP camp with her one year and she was amazing with the youth.

Thank you Sarah for serving our church. Teddy and Mason, please know your mom was loved and respected for the woman she was.
Much love to Priscilla and Jeff.
    Shine on Sarah ❤️

Sarah and I started out as co workers, but then she grew to being one of my best friends. She was always there for me through my ups and downs and it didn’t matter what time of day it was. I could always count on her for anything and tell her anything in confidence without any hesitation. Sarah was a huge part of my life. She My whisky drinking partner, my wing man, my dance partner, the best gift giver, she was never afraid to try or do anything new and always down to go on any last minute dates or road trips. We always had a good time together on any of our outings and managed to make the best of any unexpected bad trips. (Like a flat tire on our way back from SF ) lol. she loved Harry Potter, Wonder Woman, Star Wars, Lucifer, The Office , Lego building, oh and her Giants. She was the biggest Giants fan around. I never met any other female that knew so much about Giants, stats and each player on that team. I honestly didn’t like baseball until I went to my first game with her. Sarah had a kind soul, very committed, always there and always willing to help. She had a contagious laugh when she got rolling and always admired how much She loved her family, her parents, her friends and especially the love she had for her two boys. Those boys were her world and ho her face would light up when talking about them. I can go on with so many memories and good things about Sarah because that’s the kind of person she was. My life is never going to be the same without her. I miss you my beautiful friend and I always will. You may be Gone from this world too soon, but you will never forgotten in this girls heart. I love you ❤️
