Nov. 1946 – Feb. 2022
Carol Waaramaa Smith was born in Massachusetts in 1946. Her dad, Arthur Waaramaa (mom Edna), was in the Air Force so the family moved frequently, settling in Livingston, California near Castle Air Force Base. Carol graduated from Livingston High School in 1964. She attended UC San Francisco, then married and had four children: Paul (Janet) Kavinoky, Julie Minasian, Seanna (Tom) Johnson, and Ben Kavinoky.
She later attended MJC to become a registered nurse; then served in the Turlock community for many years before working at Walmart until her retirement about 10 years ago. Upon retirement she settled in Denair, California near her grandchildren: Caleb (Kathie), Eli, Nadia, and Nicole Johnson.
She enjoyed working in her garden and taking cruises with her friends. Her cat, Ripley, brought much joy to her life. She liked helping others, including volunteering at Westside Ministries for many years. She loved the Lord and attended Community Bible Study.
After a brief illness Carol passed peacefully in her sleep on February 14, 2022. All her children as well as her nephew Andrew Stinson (Lorie & Max) were together at Christmas and will cherish that time together.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022, 1:30PM at the Johnson Home, 10374 W. East Ave., Ballico, CA.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Westside Ministries in Turlock.
