Roe Edwards January 17, 1942 - October 29, 2022

Roe Edwards passed away at the age of 80 on October 29, 2022, at his home in Modesto, CA. Roe was born in 1942 to Ernest Roe Edwards and Mary Pollock Lockhart in Chicago, IL. His family moved to California when he was young, where he graduated from Arcadia High School and attended Pasadena City College. Roe held top management positions for over 22 years working for Rule Real Estate, Rule Enterprises, Rule Development, Rule Dale Auto Plaza, Turlock Ford, and Continental Leasing.  For the past 30 years, Roe was employed by Tom Eakin at MTC Distributing in sales and then as the Director of Marketing and Purchasing.  “MTC Distributing would not have had the success it has had without Roe Edwards!”  Tom Eakin. Roe held you captive with his great story telling abilities and brought much laughter with his jokes.  To his dear friends, his nicknames were Roe Boat, Boat, and Boatski.  He was a man of many interests and talents. Roe was an avid golfer, loved horse racing, admired classic cars and boats, and enjoyed doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, Having grown up in Southern California, Roe was a faithful Dodger and Ram fan.  He was a member of Del Rio Country Club for 45 years, served on the Board of Directors for 3 years and was on the membership and invitational committee for 20 years. Roe is preceded in death by his parents Ernest Edwards and Mary Burrows and his younger brother Terry Edwards. Roe is survived by his wife of 22 years Jean Edwards, his daughters Shawna Lane, Lisa Capron, Amanda Edwards, Lindsey Edwards and stepchildren Sid and Julie Bernardo.  He is also survived by his grandsons Jace Lane, Lucas Vieira, and Emile Bernardo and siblings Sandi Spears, and Karen Ruzak. He will be missed by his devoted pets Mia and Max. Roe was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who will always be remembered.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, 01/08/23 at 1:00 pm,  at the Del Rio Country Club, Modesto. In lieu of flowers: donations can be made to the ASPCA.
