Donald Theodore Ulrich, Sr. March 3, 1934 - December 27, 2022

Donald was born in San Francisco, CA to Otto and Dorothy Ulrich and passed away at the age of 88.  He graduated from Sequoia High School in Redwood City in 1952 and from UC Davis in 1956.  In 1957 he married Saralee Ritchey and together they shared 65 years of marriage.

Don worked in the agriculture, feed and poultry industries for 39 years.  During that time he worked for Hess and Clark, Inc., Vineland, Inc., Niemeyer Chicken Farms and Nutrius, Inc.  In 1964 he stared his own almond farm in Denair and owned it until the time of his passing.  Don was an industry leader in agriculture and was a past board member and president of California Feed and Grain Association in 1995. He was a governing board member for the Gratton School District and Board of Directors member for the Cortez Growers Association.  Don also served twice on the board of the Turlock Golf and Country Club.

He was a prolific writer to The Modesto Bee  and had 16 letters published on political issues.

He is survived by his wife Saralee Ulrich; children Donald Theodore Ulrich Jr. of Clovis, Dirk Arthur Ulrich of Ballico and Douglas Allen Ulrich of Denair; brother Robert Ulrich of San Mateo; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Turlock on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 11:00a.m.
