One of 11 children, Charlotte was born to William Oscar Womack and Florence Dame Trout, a farming family who earned their living from the land in Stigler, Oklahoma.
The family moved to the Turlock/Hilmar area of California in the late 1930’s to farm and raise turkeys. Charlotte attended Turlock High School and she worked as a housekeeper, in turkey processing plants with her mother, and at Collins Hospital as a nurse’s aide.
In January 1946, Charlotte met a GI just home from the war. Following a blind date of burgers and puzzles, she married August Chipponeri of Ceres in March 1946. They celebrated 70+ years of marriage before August proceeded her in death in 2016. Charlotte and August raised three children, Martha Colquhoun (Alan), Steve (Betty) and Tim (Cathy). They were blessed with 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Throughout her life, Charlotte was never afraid to express her opinion and always had a down-home wit or saying that kept others laughing. She was a hard worker and held many jobs, including cannery worker, turkey processor, USDA inspector and daycare owner.
Having owned several farm and dairy properties in the Stanislaus and Merced County area, Charlotte and August sold their Hilmar ranch and moved to Turlock in the mid-1970’s. While continuing to work, they now found time to enjoy RV’ing and traveling, which led to many adventures across the country with family and friends. While on an RV excursion, they found their ‘Snow-bird’ home in Yuma, where they truly loved to winter and had many years of enjoyment.
Above all, Charlotte treasured her family most and was a devoted and generous wife and mother until the Lord called her home. Charlotte was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband and nine of her siblings.

July 31, 2023 at 4:52 amIt will be the little things
you remember,
the quiet moments,
the smiles, the laughter.
And although it may seem
hard right now,
it will be the memories
of these little things
that help push away
the pain and bring
the smiles back again.
