James Carl Pearson passed away on October 29, 2023 at the age of 65, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.
Jim was born on November 17, 1957 in Chicago, IL. The son of Reverend Elmer and June Pearson, his early childhood was spent in Rocklin, CA before moving to San Francisco. In San Francisco he met and married his wife, Greta, started a family, and served as a San Francisco Police Officer before retiring in Turlock, CA.
Jim loved the Lord, his family, reading, golfing, skiing, football and road trips. He enjoyed being at the family cabin in Mission Springs and spending time with friends. He was a rock for his family, a large man of few words, and a husband, father and friend whose presence was always felt and appreciated. He will be so missed, but never forgotten.
He is survived by Greta, his loving wife of 41 years; daughters Erin Lyftogt (Caleb) and Ingrid Hall (Andy); his son Connor Pearson; and sister Kathy Baumann.
He also leaves behind four beloved grandchildren (Annika Lyftogt, Malachi Lyftogt, Hadley Hall, and Callan Hall), several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

November 17, 2023 at 6:20 pmI have not known many people with such a wide scope of expertise, mostly due to his voracious appetite to read. History, sports, literature, politics, religion… the list goes on. He was a true sportsman with no tolerance for anything less than the best in the way of equipment, destinations, accommodations, eateries and even libations! But above all Jim’s many interests he loved and devoted himself to his family, unfailing in his support and sacrifices for them. My deepest condolences to the Pearson family and trust they find comfort in knowing he is at peace and has embarked on the ultimate adventure… and they hold fast to every memory of a life well lived.
