Karnail Singh Rai of Ballico, CA has passed away at the age of 83. He was born in Punjab, India to Kartar Singh Rai and Gurbachan Kaur. He married Gurdev Kaur and together they raised their 3 children, Kulvinder, Jasvinder, and Sarbjit. He worked as a farmer since the young age of 7, and spent most of his life working in agriculture.

Karnail was a person who loved life and the simple things it had to offer. He loved food, festivals, weddings and loved to garden.  His love for growing things started as a child as he followed his dad around with his brothers and dreamed of farming his own land. He migrated to the the U.S. in 1979 with his brothers and worked as a labor hand in many different orchards to save money and buy his own piece of property in Gridley.  He sold the small Gridley peach orchard in 1994 and purchased a larger property in Ballico and that is where he stayed with his wife who passed only a few months before his passing.

Karnail is survived by his three adult children, Kulvinder, Jasvinder, and Sarbjit, grandchildren, siblings, nephews and nieces.

A Funeral will be held at Allen Mortuary on Thursday, November 9 from 9-11am.

A Visitation will be held at Allen Mortuary on Wednesday, November 8 from 5-7pm.
