Howard Norton of Turlock, CA passed away at the age of 92. He was born in Ottawa, Kansas to Willard and Hazel (Fisher) Norton in October of 1931. He grew up in Denair where he graduated from Denair High School in 1951. Howard then enlisted in the United States Navy and during the service he married Vera Pirtle in Reno, NV in February of 1953. After his honorable discharge from the service he lived in Turlock, Sacramento, Roseville, and then back to Turlock in 1967. He was employed with the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds for over 23 years. He was a member of the Turlock American Legion Post 88.
Howard is survived by his loving wife Vera Norton of Turlock, son Bob Norton of Turlock, son Bill Norton of Twain Harte, daughter Dr. Beverly Norton of Rail Road Flat, seven grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchildren, and his sister Alice Fliflet of Oregon.
A committal service will be held Thursday, February 1, 2024, 11am at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella.
