David Lawrence Machado
October 4, 1939 – May 24, 2024
David Machado, 84, went on to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 24, 2024. He passed away in the comfort of his home in Turlock, CA, surrounded by his loving children.
David was born in Hanford, California on October 4, 1939, to Lawrence and Mary Machado, and he was raised by his beloved grandfather Manuel Conceicao. He was the oldest of four children.
On September 15, 1979, he married the love of his life Marilyn Machado, and together they settled in the Hilmar-Turlock area where they blended their families; loved and cherished all five of their children.
David worked as an auto mechanic for most of his life, as fixing cars was something he loved and was passionate about. He worked at Bonander in Turlock, opened his own business as Dave’s Custom Transmissions in Turlock, and eventually went on to co-own Performance Transmissions with his son. However, his greatest passion in life was spending time with his family and making beautiful memories. In his spare time, he enjoyed an active lifestyle of riding four wheelers, motorcycles, rebuilding cars and model airplanes, traveling to the coast, and going to Village Donuts to socialize and visit with friends.
Dave will always be remembered for his witty sense of humor, the ease of which he befriended anyone and everyone, as well as his desire to always help a friend in need. Most importantly, he will be remembered for the fierce love he had for his family.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 41 years, Marilyn Machado. He is survived by his children, Marci (Jesse) Machado, Candice (Troy) Reeves, Darren Casey, Terry (Lawson) Rudge, and Tammy (John) Machado Coelho; as well as his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
