Harlan P. Dahlgren, age 86 of Denair, California, entered his eternal home on Tuesday, April 30, 2019.  Harlan was born the son of Knut & Ruth (Anderson) Dahlgren and they, along with his wife, Carolyn (Adams) Dahlgren, and sister Norma Klaschus, have preceded him in death.

Surviving Harlan is his daughter, Christine (Neil) Pettifor of Orleans, Michigan; son, Andrew “Alan” Dahlgren of Coulterville, California; grandchildren, Elisabeth (Richard) Mapel; Jeremiah Pettifor; Rebecca Pettifor and Nathanael Pettifor; sister, Arlene Abel of Hickman, California, sister-in-law, Margaret (Jerry) Hall of Modesto, California, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Harlan proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force.  He was a charter member of the Monte Vista Chapel and could often be found running the sound system at church on Sundays.  He enjoyed flying model airplanes and was a member of the Turlock Radio Control Club.  Harlan enjoyed going to coffee with friends several times a week.  Harlan was a history lover and a Civil and World War buff.  He and his wife traveled the United State extensively, visiting national parks as well as many Civil War sites and locations.

Visitation for Harlan is being held on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Allen Mortuary (247 N. Broadway) in Turlock, California from 5-7 PM.

Funeral services for Harlan are being held at 11 AM on Friday, May 10, 2019 also at Allen Mortuary.  Final interment will be at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, California.

For those wishing to make a memorial donation in Harlan’s memory the family suggests you direct them to either the Monte Vista Chapel or Campus Crusade for Christ.  Donations can be sent in care of the family to Simpson Family Funeral Homes, P.O. Box 168, Sheridan, MI 48884.

    To the family of Harlan,I am so sorry for your loss. I knew your Dad through working at Bank of America. He was our mechanic for our branch. He was always repairing our NCR machines. He was a wonderful man and friend. We would share our traveling experiences. This was in Merced, Ca. I now reside in Yuma, Arizona. He also would share wonderful vegetables from his garden. We send our sincerest condolences.
