Gina Lozano Bonnici February 24, 1962 - May 26, 2019

Gina Lozano Bonnici

Gina Lozano Bonnici, at age 57 went to be with the Lord on May 26, 2019. Gina was born in San Franciso, moved to Modesto with family in 1977, and graduated from Downey High School in 1980. She then completed her education at Stanislaus State University, with a degree in Psychology and minor in Computer Accounting. After graduation she went to work for the family tire business in Modesto. She continued on to become the Controller of Wilson Way- U.S. Tire Sales with multiple locations in Northern California.

Gina is survived by her two daughters Brianna Choate and Jenna Friedrich, son-in-laws Seth Choate and Jacob Friedrich, granddaughter Austyn, parents Ralph and Lola Lozano of Turlock, brother Ralph Lozano Jr. of Santa Rosa, and sister LaRae Lozano of Riverbank. She also leaves behind her loving pet Mia.

Gina will be remembered for her kind and loving heart and how she always put others before herself. Family was the most important thing to her and the way she brought them all together was through her cooking. Whether it was her homemade pasta sauce that she had cooking all day and was devoured in 2 minutes or her delicious prime rib and twice baked potatoes, Gina’s house was the place to be on Sunday nights.

There was no questioning Gina’s love of animals. Once her daughters started getting a little older, and the family had moved to a Ranchette with some property, the animals just started accumulating. Between horses, cows, sheep, chickens, pigs, dogs, a goat and the never-ending kittens Jenna and Brianna would bring home, there was always plenty of love and animals to go around.

Gina was never a frugal person. She gave the best gifts and very rarely told her daughters “no” when they wanted to go shopping. Her sons-in-laws are now paying for that, as her girls still love to shop. Even though she had been sick awhile and she didn’t have as much to give, she still loved surprising her granddaughter Austyn with a new toy or outfit every time she would come over to visit (which was often)!

Through all her years of battling multiple different health issues, Gina always stayed strong willed and stubborn. Everyone around her learned to listen to her because she had the best instincts. Any time she could, she would get up and get her family together. She never stopped instilling the importance of family and the traditions she wanted to pass along to her children and grandchildren. There are so many great memories and lessons learned from Gina. Her love and caring nature will never be forgotten.

Services will be on June 6, 2019 at 1 pm at Allen Mortuary, 247 N. Broadway, Turlock.
