Alice Blomenkamp of Turlock, California, went home to be with the Lord on January 10th, 2023.
Alice was born February 3rd, 1934 in Stockton, California. She was the youngest of four children born to Ralph and Hazel Gates. Alice graduated from San Jose State with a degree in Elementary Education and began a much-loved teaching career that spanned nearly four decades. She married Byron Blomenkamp on March 21st, 1964. Alice and Byron lived in Denair, Patterson, and Turlock, places where they could enjoy their animals and gardens.
Alice was passionate about teaching children and enjoyed leading numerous after-school Good News Clubs with Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) from the time she was sixteen to age eighty-four. She also enjoyed volunteering in church, being with her grandchildren, and stood as a steadfast support to her children in all their endeavors. Anyone that knew Alice understood that she was quiet, humble, dedicated, hard-working, fiercely independent, and generous.
Alice is survived by her husband, Byron; two children, Joel (Colleen) Blomenkamp and Ruth (Kyle) Luman; five grandchildren, Derek Blomenkamp (24), Micah Blomenkamp (22), and Allison Blomenkamp (19), Ari Luman (13), and Christian Luman (10).
