We’ve lost an immensely sweet soul…but Heaven has gained a beautiful angel. Jean was like a Mom to me. I’ll always remember her beautiful smile and extreme kindness. My heart, love, & prayers go out to Patrick and everyone in the family. I look forward to seeing her again one day when God calls us home. God Bless her. I love you, Jean!

  3. Roseann and David Long says

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.

He will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge.

  4. Michael Shafer says

The best aunt a person could have. She taught me that spontaneity was a good thing and to live life by your rules not others. She raised my three awsome cousins basically on her own and that showed me how love is more important than anything material. I will miss you and love you forever.

My husband and I spent many good times with Jean and Chuck when they visited us in Salinas and Gonzales and when we visited them in Delhi. We spent many hours dancing the night away. On a visit to Gonzales Jean surprised me with a picture of my mom that she painted and framed while taking art classes. I will forever be grateful. Jean loved to share stories of her family and was very proud of all of you. Jean was witty, dry sense of humor and an infectious smile. She will be missed. Sending love and prayers to your entire family during this difficult and sad time. I am sorry I will not be able to attend Jean’s service.

I know my grandmother has passed on but I don’t think of her as died. I will always remember the pool partie with family and friends. The long trips to the boardwalk and how she would make us listen to the beach boys and persist to sing at the top of her lungs.my grandma has lived a long and full life full of beautiful memories. She will live on for many generations. I love you grandma always and forever.

You were a wonderful mom to my best friend and gracious host to us rocknroll guys whenever we would tramp into your house in Merced. May you be reunited with your loved ones who have already passed and continue to watch over your family that are still here on this mortal coil. God bless for a life well lived.

Grandma, I think I remember most how as a child the holidays always seemed to start when you showed up. We would bake and decorate and then… you would arrive at the door, and it was finally time for things to begin. I loved that and I love you. I cherish so many of the things you made for me with your own hands. Tea sets with my name on them, prairie dresses with blummers for field trips and clothes for our Barbie dolls. Now as an adult, I can appreciate not just the time you spent making them, but the thought you put into making us smile. I won’t ever forget that you did these things and that you always came. Holidays, bdays, graduations, and weddings, I never doubted that you would be there. It’s no small thing. I love you grandma. I love the Mom and family you gave to me. Thank you with all my heart. Rest In Peace. Love you forever, Sarah and family
