Amelia Martinez, 83 of Modesto, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Michoacan Mexico to Sabas and Consuelo Ochoa on November 1937. She was preceded in death by her husband Alberto of 57 years and her parents. She is survived by her children Guadalupe, Alberto Jr., and Yolanda; 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; four brothers Ezequiel, Eliodoro, Ramiro, and Salvador, and her sister Guadalupe.

Amelia came to the United States in 1963, where she worked in agriculture and at Tillie Lewis Cannery in Modesto. Amelia was also a homemaker and took great care of her children and grandchildren. Amelia enjoyed cooking, dancing, listening to music (especially mariachi), and traveling to Mexico. Amelia loved the color yellow. She always looked forward to her birthday parties, and she enjoyed dying her hair and loved makeup and jewelry. Amelia enjoyed making people laugh.

Amelia loved being with family, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and talking on the phone with family and friends. Amelia was a very loving person; she will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Visitation will be at Allen Mortuary on Monday, August 16, 2021 from 5-7pm with Rosary to follow at 6pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Jude Catholic Church in Ceres on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 10:00am with burial to follow at Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery in Modesto.

Amelia Martínez, de 83 años de Modesto, falleció en paz en su casa rodeada de su amada familia.

Nació en Michoacán Mxico a Sabas y Consuelo Ochoa en noviembre de 1937. Le precedieron en la muerte su esposo Alberto de 57 años y sus padres. Le sobreviven sus hijos Guadalupe, Alberto Jr. y Yolanda; 15 nietos y 15 bisnietos; cuatro hermanos Ezequiel, Eliodoro, Ramiro y Salvador, y su hermana Guadalupe.

Amelia llegó a los Estados Unidos en 1963, donde trabajó en agricultura y en Tillie Lewis Cannery en Modesto. Amelia tambin era ama de casa y cuidó muy bien de sus hijos y nietos. Amelia disfrutaba cocinar, bailar, escuchar música (especialmente mariachi) y viajar a Mxico. Amelia amaba el color amarillo. Siempre esperaba sus fiestas de cumpleaños, disfrutaba teñirse el cabello y amaba el maquillaje y las joyas. Amelia disfrutaba haciendo reír a la gente.

A Amelia le encantaba estar con la familia, le encantaba pasar tiempo con sus nietos y hablar por telfono con familiares y amigos. Amelia era una persona muy cariñosa; todos los que la conocieron la extrañarán mucho.

El velorio será en Allen Mortuary el lunes 16 de agosto de 2021 de 5-7pm Y el rosario seguirá a las 6 pm La misa de entierro cristiano será en la iglesia católica St. Jude en Ceres el martes, 17 de Agosto de 2021 a las 10:00am Y seguirá el entierro en el cementerio católico St. Stanislaus en Modesto.

    Tia Amelia was a sweet, kind and giving woman. She was always sweet to all of her nieces and nephews and never said no to sleep overs. She will be missed.
