It is with great sadness that the family of Amy Lynn Edwards announce her sudden passing on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at the age of 50. She brightened every room she entered and lifted every spirit she touched.
Amy was born to Dale Edwards and Judy Armendariz on June 8, 1974 in Turlock, California. After graduating from Denair High School as the class Salutatorian, she began her journey in obtaining her degrees for a career in social work. Amy earned her Associates degree in Liberal Studies at Sierra College, her Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Development at California State University San Marcos and lastly her Masters in Social Work at San Diego State University.
Amy was a very spiritual person who loved spending time with her family and many pets throughout the years. Her dogs and cats truly were her children. For the past 18 years she dedicated herself to many children and families in need as an administrator at Central Valley Foster Care, Inc. which is a non-profit located in Riverbank, California. When she wasn’t working, Amy enjoyed exercising and would spend quality time with her loved ones. Whether it be a fun trip together, shopping, a family party or hanging out at each other’s houses, she always made time for family.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Clyde and Milly Edwards (Roseville, California), and her maternal grandparents Frank and Lorraine Brazil (Newman, California).
Amy will be deeply missed by her mother Judy Armendariz (husband Robert), father Dale Edwards (wife Christine), sister Lisa Ruezga (children Anthony, Alexa and Ava), sister Erin Potter (husband Kyle and children Degan, Brynna, Carson and Elle), brother Damien Souza, brother Jack Edwards (wife Corie and child Charlie), ex-husband Edward Martin as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1pm on September 21, 2024 at Allen Mortuary 247 North Broadway in Turlock, California. Reception to follow in Denair, California. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to The Asher House in memory of Amy Edwards. The Asher House is a registered non-profit sanctuary. They rescue animals that have been discarded or unwanted, providing them with a life of comfort, love and adventure.
