We gather today to celebrate the life of Avtar Singh Attwal, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. At 71, he lived a life full of hard work, love, and unwavering dedication to his family. For many years, he served at the post office, ensuring that letters, packages, and messages reached their destinations just as he always made sure his family was supported and cared for.
He leaves behind his loving wife, three children, and six grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of his strength, kindness, and humor. He was a steady presence in their lives, always there with wisdom, guidance, and a warm embrace. His four siblings shared a lifetime of memories with him, from childhood mischief to adult milestones, and their bond remained unbreakable.
He found joy in the simple things such as food, exercise, his faith, and gardening. His laughter filled every room, and his stories, often told with a twinkle in his eye, will be cherished forever.
Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in knowing his legacy lives on in the love he shared and the lessons he imparted. He taught us resilience, the value of hard work, and above all, the importance of family.
Today, we say goodbye, but his spirit remains with us, guiding us just as he always did. Rest in peace, Dad. You were deeply loved, and will be missed.
A funeral service will be held at Allen Mortuary on Sunday, March 2, beginning at Noon and concluding at 2:00pm with a ceremonial cremation.
Consider a donation in his memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
