Bernice George, aged 91, passed away peacefully in Turlock, California. She was born in Hilmar, California to Joe and Mary Morris, and graduated from Hilmar High School in 1951. In November of 1965, she married the love of her life, John George. Together, they made their home on John’s family ranch, where they shared a life full of love and dedication since 1965.
Bernice was a devoted member of Turlock Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was active in the Hilmar Y.L.I. and St. Patrick’s Institute #223, where she served as a charter member. She also enjoyed her time as part of the Turlock Women’s Bowling Association, where she formed lasting friendships. Bernice was known for her loving and generous spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
She is survived by her husband, John George and two beloved nieces, Candy and Josie, who cherished her deeply. Bernice’s warm heart and kind nature will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She is preceded in death by her two sisters, Ruth Boyer and Gloria Mendonca.
Visitation will be held at 5pm on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, with recitation of the Rosary to follow at 6pm at Allen Mortuary.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30pm on Wednesday, September 4th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Turlock, with burial to follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
