Betty Walker, 94 of Turlock, was born in Modesto, CA to Phillip and Erma Keir. Betty grew up attending numerous Modesto schools and graduated from Modesto High School, Modesto Junior College, and San Jose State where she also earned her teaching credential. She taught Kindergarten at Chatom School for 20 years. Betty was married to “Jay” Walker for 56 years before his passing in 2006. Betty was a former member of the First Christian Church in Turlock, where she was the organist for 10 years and her husband sang in the choir. Betty enjoyed gardening and working crossword puzzles. She was a member of Job’s Daughters and Order of Eastern Star. She maintained an active part in the Graham Family Reunion, a tradition in Modesto for 100 years.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Jasper (Jay) Walker. She is survived by her two children Philip Lee (Pam) Walker of Lake Jackson, TX, and Bonnie (John) Rasmussen of Petaluma, CA, one brother Roy Alex Keir of Salt Lake City, UT, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A Visitation will be held at Allen Mortuary on Monday, Oct. 1, 2018 from 10:00am – 12:00pm. Interment in San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, CA will follow at 2:30pm.

September 24, 2018 at 10:43 amMy deepest condolences to the Family on the lost of your dear loved one our average life span is 70yrs or 80yrs if especially strong (Psalm 90:10) Ms Walker lived beyond that living a full life may you find comfort in God’s promise that we will be able to see our dead loved ones again (John 5:28,29)
