Byron Douglas Fruetel

June 1957 ~ February 2020

Byron Douglas Fruetel, age 62 of Turlock, passed away on February 9, 2020. Byron was born in June of 1957 in Minnesota to Douglas and Adeline Fruetel. In 1962 Byron moved to Turlock. Byron went to work for his Uncle Hank at Rootlieb, Inc. in 1974, where he worked for 46 years.

Byron married Lily Ventura in August of 1985. The highlight of Byron’s life was being a Grandpa. Byron was an amazing Grandpa, Dad and Husband.

Byron is survived by his wife, Lily Ventura; two daughters, Sheila Ventura and Carrie Carlson; three grandchildren, Cailynn, Bobby, and Cheyenne; and a brother, John (Danna) Fruetel. Byron is preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Adeline Fruetel.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at 11:00am at Allen Mortuary with a reception to follow at the Turlock V.F.W. Hall at 1405 E. Linwood.

So sad to loose such a dear friend. Byron and I met during freshman football tryouts in 1971. We became fast friends and that friendship lasted to the end of his life. Byron was a good human being. He was a loyal and kind person. He made my life better for knowing him. Love you brother.

Love to Carrie, Chris, Cailynn, Cheyenne, Lilly and family. I just recently met this great man. I know he was great and more importantly loved, as I saw it in the eyes of those that cherish him. Rest in paradise and God Bless.

Byron smile was beautiful and will be missed by all. Henry and I are so saddened and have hugs for Lilly, John and his family, Sheila and her family, Carrie and her family. We dearly miss Doug and Addie, and now Byron. We are as close as the phone. Rest In Peace Byron.

I was so sad to read of Byron’s passing. I hadn’t seen him in years, but he’s someone you don’t forget. He was always kind and fun to be around. I’m so sorry for the loss to his family and friends, he will be truly missed. Even though I hadn’t seen him for so long he will be remembered. God Bless and Rest In Peace.

Byron will always remain in my heart as one of the best guys I ever had the pleasure of meeting, kind, humorous, talented, loyal to his family and friends, he was the quintessential hard working American. R I P old friend and my deepest sympathies to Lil and the rest of the family.

Bryon always loved working for my Mom at the VFW hamburger booth at at fair. He wouldn’t work for no one else. Our parents were/are members of the post. We had some good times cooking, back in the day. At times I would see he and Lyl come out for Friday night hamburgers, it was always a pleasure seeing them together. He loved his family so much, he missed his parents dearly, and yes, his eyes light up when he talked about his grandkids. We’ll see you on the other side some day my friend. Peace.

Byron was my dads (Terry) good friend for many years. I grew up knowing Byron as a close family friend, really more like family. He was an amazing guy who always had a hello hug and smile when I was greeted by him. A great guy taken too soon.
