Celia Brophy January 12, 1963 - December 20, 2020

Celia Brophy

January 1963 ~ December 2020

It is with heavy hearts, that we share the passing of Celia Lynn Frahm Brophy. On December 20th 2020, in the comfort of her home, Celia passed away peacefully with her loving family gathered at her side. Celia was born January 12, 1963 in Livermore, California to Barbara Marie Schmidt Frahm and the late Author Lee Frahm.  After relocating several times, Celia’s family settled in Turlock, California in the spring of 1972 when Celia was 9 years old.  As a child, Celia attended Central Elementary School in Tracy, Chatom Elementary School in Turlock and graduated from Turlock High School in 1981.  While in high school, Celia enjoyed being a mat-maid and gymnast. Celia was a long-time member of Saint Francis Episcopal Church in Turlock.
Celia married her husband Kevin Brophy in 1999. Together, they owned and operated Lamppost Pizza on West Main Street in Turlock. Celia was employed by Turlock Unified School District as a school bus driver for approximately 20 years. She also enjoyed working as a cosmetologist for nearly 40 years.

Celia was a genuinely sweet and kind soul with a smile that would light up the room. She had a sense of humor that could put a smile on anyone’s face. Her favorite place to be was surrounded by her family and friends with a glass of wine in hand. She was a gracious host of parties and welcomed everyone as a friend. She loved  weekend getaways at her favorite beach house located at Pajaro Dunes Beach Resort in Watsonville, CA. She loved golfing but was not concerned about the score, to her it consisted of either a smiley face or a sad face.  Celia loved playing games, wine tasting, watching movies, traveling, camping, but most of all she loved being a mother. She was a fabulous mom, the bond she had with her kids is what she cherished the most.

Celia is survived by her husband Kevin Brophy, mother Barbara Marie Schmidt Frahm, brothers Wendell & Eric Frahm, her son & daughter-in-law Kyler & Jessica Weese, daughter & future son-in-law Kirby Weese & Jordan Cezar, her bonus daughter & son-in-law Meryka & Matt Skidgel and her grandchildren John, Joseph & Torvi Skidgel.

A celebration of Celia’s life will be held at a later date when everyone who loves her can be included. Please visit “Celia’s Cancer Journey” Facebook page for updates.
