Christine Rouse November 26, 1946 - September 6, 2024

Date of Service

September 23, 2024

In loving memory of Christine Rouse (Storment), 77, of Delhi, CA, passed away on September 6, 2024, after a courageous 4-year battle with cancer.

Christine was born on November 26th, 1946, in Keota, Oklahoma, the daughter of Porter and Kathleen Storment (Powell). She was the fifth of thirteen children, growing up in a large, hardworking family that shaped her independent and strong-willed nature.

On December 14, 1968, Christine married Dalbert Rouse Sr., in Carson City, Nevada. Their marriage spanned 36 years until Dalbert’s passing in 2004. Together, they built a home in Delhi, where they raised their children Dalbert Jr. and Leonard Rouse.

Christine worked at Patterson Frozen Foods for 32 years, where she was respected by peers and known for her work ethic and dedication. She retired in 2012, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment.

Outside of her work life, Christine found joy in simple pleasures. She was an avid reader who could spend hours immersed in a good book. She was a devoted San Francisco 49ers fan and coffee lover. She could be found sipping a cold cup at all hours of the day.

Christine was known for her sassy, outspoken nature. She never hesitated to say exactly what was on her mind. Her blunt honesty became one of her most memorable traits. Whether you were a close family member or a new friend, Christine would tell you the truth, unfiltered and straight to the point. She voiced her opinions with a sharp wit and sense of humor that kept everyone on their toes.

Despite her strong, outspoken personality, Christine was remarkably forgiving. She never held grudges, no matter how difficult a situation might have been. Anger was something she rarely showed. Instead, she met life’s challenges with peace, grace, and a quiet strength that inspired everyone around her. Those who knew her best saw a woman with a heart full of love.

Christine’s legacy lives on through her children, Dalbert Rouse Jr. (Rebecca) and Leonard Rouse; her grandchildren, Steven Rouse, Joshua (Christina) Rouse, Stacey (Patrick) Gallagher, Alexis Castro, Ezekiel (Stacy) Rouse, Angelica Castro, and Mya Rouse; and her great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Porter (Lawanda) Storment, Gerald (Barbara) Storment, Alvin (Kathy) Storment, Vernon (Donna) Storment, and Richard (Darlene) Storment; her sisters, Ruth (Archie) Barnes, Carolyn (John) White, Janine (Jim) Keller, Lona (Roger) Swanson, and Margaret Mayfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dalbert Rouse Sr., her parents, and her brothers, John Storment Sr. and Randel Storment.

In her typical humorous fashion, one of Christine’s wishes was to have her obituary announced on TV like they do for the President. While that may not happen, her legacy will be cherished by her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her wit and humor, paired with her deep love for her family, will forever be remembered.

Services will be held September 23rd, 2024 at 9:00AM at Allen Mortuary in Turlock, CA. Burial services will be held immediately after at 11:00AM at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, CA.
