Conrad (Roy) Schachterle was born on June 5th, 1941, to Roy E. & Velma G. Schachterle in Windsor, Colorado. He was followed by 3 more siblings: Marilyn, Dean, & Mildred. His childhood was spent in various parts of Colorado. He rode his bike, fished with friends, and graduated High School. He then joined the Navy in 1959. Soon, after he was in the Navy, he was set up on a blind date with his wife to be. Conrad and Sharon eloped in 1961. They welcomed a baby girl, Sharalee in the spring of 1962. Another bundle arrived in the fall of 1965, a healthy baby boy, Kevin Roy. Conrad retired from the Navy in 1973 with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. In 1979, Conrad earned a college degree in business from Stanislaus State University.
He practiced accounting and became a controller for various businesses. He retired in 2009 at the age of 67.
He was residing with his wife Sharon when he went to be with the Lord. Conrad is survived by his loving wife Sharon, children Sharalee (Scott) and Kevin. Grandchildren, Natalie and Nicole (Kevin). We mourn the separation from our beloved Husband, Father, and Papa as we celebrate his passing into glory with his loving Savior.
Funeral services will be held at Allen Mortuary, 247 N. Broadway, Turlock, CA 95380. There will be a viewing on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, from 4-6 pm. Services will be held at 10:00 am at Allen Mortuary on Wednesday, May 11, 2022. with his burial following the same day at 1:30 at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 McCabe Road, Santa Nella, CA 95322.
