Corine Crawford Morrison passed away in Turlock, CA, on Monday, September 5, 2022 at the age of 88.
Corine was born in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Ambers and Bertie Crawford. She was the eldest of their five children. The Crawford’s moved to California in 1944 and settled in Patterson, where Corine graduated from Patterson High School.
In 1951, she married Leon Morrison. Corine and Leon had two sons, Michael and Melvin. After the boys graduated from Patterson High, Corine and Leon moved to Missouri to assist her brother and sister-in-law in opening a food market. Corine was always close to her family. When she and Leon moved back to California they settled in Denair, and lived within a block of her sister, Betty, her brother, James, and her mother, Bertie.
Corine worked many years for local optometrists. Over the years, Corine and Leon enjoyed square dancing, and in retirement, they enjoyed traveling the United States in their RV with friends, and were even invited to serve as camp hosts and social directors in Ajo, Arizona.
Anyone who knew Corine knew that she got great joy from gardening, lunching with her TOPS lady friends, volunteering, and attending church. She had limitless love for her family and the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon, her parents, Ambers and Bertie, and two of her younger siblings, Maxine and George.
Corine is survived by her sons, Michael (and wife, Deborah) of San Diego, CA, and Melvin of Denair, CA, her sister, Betty (and husband, Jim Truett) of Denair, CA, her sister-in-law, Lynn Crawford of Turlock, CA, her granddaughter, Jamie (and husband, Juan Julian) of San Diego, CA, her grandson, Sean of El Cajon, CA, her granddaughter, Melissa (and husband, Dan Hopper) of Modesto, CA, as well as her great grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
