Daljit Singh, age 71 of Livingston, CA passed away on April 15, 2024. He was born November of 1952 in Punjab and settled in Livingston, California 33 years ago.
Daljit is survived by his wife, Surinder Kaur; son, Mandeep Singh; and daughter, Ramandeep Kaur. He is also survived by his siblings, Ajit Kaur, Malkiat Singh, Harbhajan Singh, and Punjab Singh.

A Sikh funeral and Sukhmani Sahib Paath will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 12pm – 2pm at Allen Mortuary located at 247 N. Broadway in Turlock. Afterwards, from 2:30pm – 4pm, there will be Antim Ardaas and Guru Ka Langar at the Guru Nanak Sikh Mission Gurdwara in Livingston CA located at 884 B Street.

Daljit Singh grew up in a big family which migrated from Lehnda Punjab to Charda Punjab during 1947. He was the youngest of 7 children. His father’s name was Sohan Singh and mother’s name was Sewa Kaur. Daljit Singh trusted Waheguru above anything in this life. His love for the Guru was immense and his trust in the Guru unwavering. He passed on his love to everyone around him. He would stop and talk with everyone on his morning and evening walks. He made friends with young and old. He made sure to speak with those in Livingston and loved ones around the world on the phone sharing the good and bad. He was a support system for many.

Daljit Singh loved doing Nitnem in the morning. He went to the Gurdwara every single day. He loved gardening. In his backyard, he grew all kinds of fruits and vegetables. He loved doing Seva (selfless-service). Whether at the Gurdwara, a Nagar Kirtan or someone’s program at their house, you could find him helping make and serve langar. He loved the servants of the Guru, including paathis, laangris, sevadaars. He loved having his morning and afternoon tea. He loved eating hot rotis right off of the stove. He was a great chef. He knew how to make all kinds of Punjabi foods. Daljit Singh loved his wife and children. We are all lucky to have known him and hope to continue his legacy through the love we share with everyone around us.
