David Clyde Bailey August 9, 1946 - October 16, 2022

On October 16, 2022, David Clyde Bailey, 76 of Turlock, CA passed away peacefully at home. David was predeceased by his parents and two sisters. He is survived by his three children, Anna (Jim Vernon), Dorothy (John McClure), and James, his five grandchildren; Dylon, Halie, Madison, Thomas, and Lyra and his one great-granddaughter; Drew, his brothers William “Joe”, Dan, Paul, several nieces and nephews and his beloved cats Bandit and Rita.

He was born in Bellefontaine, OH, and worked at a young age with his dad at the family gas station, which fostered his love of cars and motorcycles. He went on to serve our nation in the US Army completing multiple tours in Vietnam, Korea, Thailand, and Germany. He retired from Ft. Ord in 1985 to then become a Civil Servant for another 22 years as a Federal Police 9-1-1 dispatcher. He loved being a dad and being a Papa was a special pride he wore everywhere. He was an avid collector of all things John Wayne and loved attending the Gallo Theater of Arts. You could find him on the weekends attending one of hundreds of 5K races throughout central California (the kilt guy).

His snarky, quick-witted personality, sentimental heart, and willingness to do anything for his family will be missed.

Burial services will be held November 8, 2022, at 3:30 pm at California Central Coast Veterans Cemetery located at 2900 Parker Flats Cut Off Road, Seaside, CA 93955. Please join us for David’s celebration of life immediately following the burial at American Legion Post 694, 694 Legion Way #694, Marina, CA 93933.
