Delpha E. Hardester December 1, 1925 - March 25, 2019

Dec. 1925 -Mar. 2019
Delpha Hardester, 93, went Home to meet her Lord and Savior on March 25, 2019.  Delpha was born in Minnesota, one of ten children born to immigrants from Sweden and Norway. She loved her Scandinavian heritage. As one of the younger siblings, she laughed because while she was growing up, she never knew if she was speaking English, Swedish or Norwegian.

Delpha and her husband Frank were married for 63 years before his passing in 2010. Together they had five children: Peter (Barbara), Dale (Cindy), Gale (Janice), JoEllen (Bruce) and Kirsten (Glenn). They were loving grandparents to 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Delpha worked for the State of California before retiring after 23 years of service. After retirement, she joined Frank in ministry at Monte Vista Chapel in Turlock. They enjoyed traveling all over the world as well as spending time with family.

Delpha loved the Lord and served Him well in various capacities all her days.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2019 at Covenant Village Berg Hall, 2125 North Olive Avenue, Turlock.  Interment will take place at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella. Please share your sweet memories on this website.

  1. Brenda Schmidt says

Delpha was my mom’s neighbor at Sequoia and was always so kind to me. Then at the Care Center where my mom eventually lived as well Delpha would always say to me (and to so many others) that she loved me when I passed her in the hall. Such a sweet gesture and always made my day brighter. She was a faithful servant!

  2. Judy Hallstrom Walker says

    Dear Pete,
It was a joy to read about your mom’s life–a life well-lived. May you and your family be blessed with peace.

  3. Lois Shirk says

Mark 14:8 is a favorite verse of mine and a fitting tribute to your mother. Many years of serving her husband, her children, and her Lord. Now it is her time to hear “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

  4. Joyce Wilkinson ORourke says

    Dear Pete
Her job was done. May she rest in peace. Till you meet again. Blessings to you and Barb.
