Denise Lynn Nunes-Horton of Modesto, CA, surrounded by her children and sisters, went home to her Heavenly Father on June 27, 2023. She was a proud retiree of Sutter Health after 28 years of employment. She was a member of the Modesto Portuguese Pentecost Association where she was a Queen in her youth and participated in the festa parades. She was a very involved and committed mother in her children’s grade school activities.
Denise is survived by Mike Horton and her children: Bobby Lee (Natalie), Mandy O’Brien (Danny), Mindy Fernandes and Michael Horton; 9 grandchildren: Makayla, Hagan, Mya, Kylee, Preston, Braden, Bryler, Ava and Grayson; two great grandchildren: Haley and Wrenley. She was preceded in death by one grandchild: Haylen.
She is also survived by her father, Tony Nunes Jr (Joyce) of Ceres and mother Joanne Kelch of Modesto as well as 4 siblings: Debbie Rodriguez (Pat), Tonette Wilkerson (Bob), Jack Kelch, and Tami Krejci (Jarod).
Denise was a doting mother, loving sister, and a wonderful grandmother committed to bringing smiles and laughter to all those around her. She will be deeply missed.
Memorial service will be at Allen Mortuary on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 1:pm.

I have so many fond memories of our camping trips and great parties that we had when we were younger, she was always the life of the party! My condolences to her entire family. RIP Denise
