Sept. 1933 – Mar. 2018
Dolores (Carlson) Fowler, a loving mother and gracious woman, is now in the arms of her Lord and Savior. Dolores was born in the fall of 1933 to Gustaf and Alma Carlson in Fresno, CA and was raised with her sister Lorraine.
Dolores attended Roosevelt High School and Fresno State College where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics. Later she earned an Administrative Credential from California State University at Hayward. She was intelligent, focused, driven and had a gift of administration. It served her well as Director of Adult Education at Mt. Diablo School District and during retirement when she worked with the Covenant Church in ordination and licensing of Pastors.
A fun mom, Dolores kept a spotless house and was a good seamstress. For special occasions she made matching outfits for the whole family. Everything Dolores did she did well. She loved to host parties, special events, and church events. These events were themed from decorations to the food and even included the clothes she chose to wear. She was adored and she will be dearly missed by her family.
Family members waiting to see her once again include her husband Roy; children Julie (Ron) Persson, John (Laura ) Fowler, James Fowler, and Jeffery Fowler; sister Lorraine Hedstrom; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter-in-law Nancy Fowler.
A Memorial Service was held Saturday, March 24, 2018 in Berg Hall at Covenant Village of Turlock. Memorial contributions in Dolores’ name can be made to Covenant Village Benevolence Care Fund, 2125 N. Olive Avenue, Turlock, 95382. Please share your memories of Dolores at www.AllenMortuary.com.
