May 1944 – September 2021
Doris Marie Spensley, age 77, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2021 at her residence in Denair. She was born in Turlock in May of 1944. After she graduated from Turlock High School in 1962, she married Reginald Spensley. They lived in Germany for two years while Reginald served in the United States Army. She worked in finance for 30 years in Modesto. She loved craft painting, beading, quilting, making jewelry, and sewing (she could make anything); these are just few things she loved and was so wonderful at. She never remained idle.
She belonged to three groups: The Pfaffie Ladies sewing group; The Dragon Wagons RV Club–she loved RVing in their motorhome; and The Bosome Buddies Cancer Support group.
Doris is survived by her husband Reginald; son Wayne Spensley; daughter Debra Peterson; three grandchildren, Matt (Rochelle) Vargas, Chris (Kelsey) Peterson, and Cody Peterson; seven great grandchildren: and two sisters, LaVerne Jones and Shirley (Bill) Bass.
A celebration of life will be held at Monte Vista Chapel at 12:00pm on October 16, 2021. Food to follow and casual celebration of life.
