Douglas Kent Case June 6, 1955 - August 28, 2021

June 1955 – August 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Douglas Kent Case.

Doug was born June 6, 1955 to Donald and Bethel Case, at Modesto City Hospital. He was an unexpected addition to the family, but a very happy surprise.

Doug attended Fremont Elementary, Roosevelt Jr. High and Grace M. Davis High, where he was a stand-out football player.

He began his career as a meat cutter in 1975, working for Angelo’s Market, then Save Mart, Food Maxx and retiring from Raley’s. His passions were cooking, watching football, fishing, and music.

We will miss his kindness, long-winded stories, sense of humor, laugh, and being the lights of his life.

Doug is survived by his wife of 36 years Debbie, and his daughter Whitney Case. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, sister Janet Brown, brothers Donnie and Robert Case.

Thank you to our friends and family for your support and kindness.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday September 10th from 3-7 p.m. at The Seasons in Modesto.

Once you have submitted your condolence, it will be approved by our staff during office hours, then published on your loved one’s page.

I came across this notice of Doug’s death only now, but allow me to give my heartfelt condolences to Debbie, and to Doug’s close friends and family. Doug and I were best of friends at Davis High School, playing football together for the 1971 and 1972 seasons, and just generally hanging out. He was like my bigger younger brother! Doug was a great friend. A great athlete. A great teammate. A good and hearty soul. I think about him on occasion – he had a good-natured self-deprecating way about himself”¦ we had some good times and his friendship was something I always really appreciated. I wish I had reconnected with him. RIP Doug, love you man.
