On April 15, 2025, Edwina (Edie) Rozario, 82, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, going home to be with the Lord.
Born the youngest daughter of John and Mary Teves, Edie grew up in Turlock, California. She graduated from Turlock High School in 1961 and went on to attend St. Joseph College of Nursing in San Francisco. After graduating in 1964, she married her high school sweetheart, Lionel Rozario. Edie began a lifelong career in nursing, earning certifications in both Occupational Health and Oncology. Her dedication to caregiving spanned over four decades—44 years of compassionate service before retiring in 2008. Even in retirement, she continued to maintain her nursing license until 2016. In her golden years, Edie and Lionel embraced motorhome life, traveling across the U.S. with their Free-N-Easy RV club. She was an avid football fan—Go Niners!—and cherished her time as “Queen” of the Radiant Ladies, Live, Love, Laugh, Red Hat Society.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Lionel Rozario, and their two daughters: Shelly (Randy) Smith of Spokane, Washington, and Lynnell Fuller of Denair, California. Edie will always be lovingly remembered as “Little Vava” by her three grandchildren: Derek (Christina) Smith of Spokane, Washington; Erika (John) Castro of San Marcos, California; and Anthony Fuller of Denair, California. She was also blessed with six great-grandchildren: Alejandra, Roman, Hudson, Julian, Gabriela, and Caleb, each of whom brought her great joy and laughter. She is also survived by her sister, Ann (Fred) Immel, of Fresno, California. And by her side through it all was her beloved dog, Marley, who brought her comfort, companionship, and endless affection.
Her kindness, sense of humor, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Edwina’s name to Noble Hospice & Palliative Care.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 1:00–4:00 p.m. at Allen Mortuary. A Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, April 28, 2025, beginning with the Rosary at 9:00 a.m., followed by Mass at All Saints University Parish in Turlock, California.
