Eldon Glenn April 11, 1936 - March 14, 2024

Eldon Glenn was born to Andrew and Zelma Glenn in Norris, Oklahoma. He attended a one room country school through 8th grade then graduated from Red Oak High School in Oklahoma. In high school he was an all-conference basketball player. After graduating from high school, he moved to Newman, California and attended Modesto Junior College for two years then transferred to Fresno State College earning a B.S. degree in Plant Science.

He served five years in the Army National Guard and Army Reserves. He had a 32-year career working for the U.S.D.A. Soil Conservation Service and was District Conservationist for over 25 years.

Eldon enjoyed working on construction projects and growing various plants, which he excelled at due to his education and S.C.S. experience.

He was a highly principled man with a strong work ethic who really loved, supported and protected his family.

Eldon married the love of his life, Dolores, in 1962 in Carmel, California and they had 61 wonderful years together raising three daughters. He and Dolores enjoyed traveling and spending time with their dear families and friends. They were avid San Francisco Giants and 49er fans.

He would like to be remembered as being fair, honest, generous and treating people with respect and dignity.

In addition to his parents, Andrew and Zelma Glenn, Eldon is preceded in death by his sisters, Sharon Glenn and Evelyn Wagner, and his grandson, Jason Alford.

Eldon is survived by his wife Dolores Glenn of Modesto, his children Donna Merkel (Robert) of Kapaa, Kauai, Gail Jarboe (Wes) of Knoxville, TN, and Amy Adams (Jim) of Lillian, AL, his siblings, Dean Glenn of Okmulgee, OK, and Sherman Glenn of Turlock, CA. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Robert Merkel Jr, Brian Merkel, Jim Adams Jr, Justin Adams and Craig Jarboe, and his great -grandchildren, Eli Merkel, Tyler Alford, Kaden Alford, Jaden Adams, Camden Adams, Kaylee Adams, Brixley Adams and Deklan Adams.
