Eleanor Faye (Walton) Webb, born November 11, 1935, at Emanuel Hospital in Turlock, California, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 10, 2024. Her legacy will be cherished by her surviving family members including her daughters Jacqueline (Webb) Dalke of Turlock, CA, and Victoria (Webb) Jacques together with her husband Steve Jacques of Gilbert AZ. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Greg Snelson, Lyndsey Snelson, Devin Jacques, three great grandchildren as well as four generations of nieces and nephews.
She was the beloved daughter of Ernie and Olive Walton of Denair CA, who preceded her in death, along with her three brothers: Leland Walton, Alvin Walton, and Bob Walton also from Denair, and a son in law, Matthew Dalke of Turlock.
Eleanor’s first job was at Castle Air Force Base in 1954 where she logged parts for B52’s which was highly classified at the time. She was extremely proud of her job and her military contributions. While working there, she met Bob Webb (also of Turlock) on a blind date through mutual friends. They married a short time later in 1957 and subsequently moved to San Francisco where she got a job in a secretarial pool. They lived there for about 6 years but moved back to Turlock in 1963 where she and Bob wanted to raise their two girls and start their own business. Together they opened Webb’s Flowers on Main Street and worked side by side for several years making many friends and memories along the way. She wrapped up her working career at Medic Alert when she retired in 1995 after 15 years of service.
As an extremely talented pianist who studied classical piano starting at a young age, she eventually shared her gift with the community she dearly loved by playing the organ or piano for Sunday services at Denair Friends Church and First United Methodist Church in Turlock as well as for many weddings for family and friends and continued to do so until her early 80’s.
Her lifelong love and dedication to God, her church and her family, her kindness, compassion for others and playful sense of humor will forever be remembered in the hearts of everyone who had the gift of knowing and loving her.
A viewing will be held Friday, June 21, 2024 at Allen Mortuary from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Services for Eleanor will be held at Allen Mortuary in Turlock, CA on June 22 , 2024, at 10am. Immediately following will be graveside services at Denair Cemetery with a celebration of life at Denair Friends Church, Denair CA.
The family requests that memorial donations be made in her name to either the Alzheimer’s Institute or the Denair Friends Church where she was her happiest playing the music that meant the most to her.
