Emma G. Montalvo (Amalia) was born on August 15, 1931 in Modesto, CA to Manuel and Maria Isabel Garcia.  Emma was raised in Zacatecas, Mexico where she met her husband Pablo Montalvo.  They  were married in March of 1947 in Aguas Calientes, and resided in Turlock, CA.  They started a family consisting of Paul, Fernando, Arthur, Yolanda, Diana, Manuel, Maria (in Heaven) and Jesus (in Heaven).

Emma worked for Latif’s Restaurant and the cannery.  She loved to cook for her family, play Bingo, watch her Novelas, and the TV show El Gordo y La Flaca.

Emma is survived by her children Paul (Toni) Montalvo, Fernando (Christine) Montalvo, Arthur Montalvo, Sr., Yolanda Castro, Diana Montalvo, and Manuel Montalvo; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; siblings Luisa, Elena, Margarita, Manuel, and Antonio.  She was preceded in death by her parents Manuel and Maria Isabel Garcia, husband Pablo Montalvo, children Maria & Jesus Montalvo, grandson Arthur Montalvo, Jr., and siblings Celia, Graciela, Juan, Herlinda, and Maria Santos.

Visitation will be on Wed., Nov. 13 from 5-7pm followed by Rosary at 7:00pm, both at Allen Mortuary.  Funeral service on Thurs., Nov. 14 at 10:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Turlock.

    To one of my closest friends Fernando and his beautiful wife Christine I’m so sorry for your loss. Your mother Fernando always wanted to feed me she thought I was too skinny. Never forget her.
