Emma was a unique woman who always had an aurora of love surrounding her. It drew you in with her smile. That smile made you want to embrace her as if she were your own mother. If you were sitting at your table at a dinner dance with the Golden Gate Smooth Dancers, she would approach you and extend her arms to invite you onto the dance floor. While dancing, she made passionate movements to the Rhumba while you were executing the pattern of dance you were hoping that she would be attuned to. In a moment, you knew she instinctively was aware of the pattern that you were trying to execute. You knew then that she was an accomplished dancer. In fact, a past dance instructor.

While visiting her, at one of her annual invitations, at her home with many other fellow dancers, she opened her door and heart while inviting you in with that same smile. Little did you know that her home was situated on a ranch populated with horses, a parrot, dogs, and peacocks. “Mi casa es tu casa” she would say. Soon, she had drinks flowing, music playing, people laughing and enjoying dinner outside her home as the warm air surrounded your table while food was flowing before you as if coming out of a cornucopia. Lights lit up the night strung by her, her family and farm hands and guests were exchanging stories and memorable moments as if you were at your own Thanksgiving dinner. Peacocks surrounded the guests and made the moment surreal, especially with their calls to one another or that familiar scream responding to some kind of disturbance. It was their way of protecting Emma’s home and her guests, while enjoying the warm and starry night.

You knew that when you were with Emma and her daughter, Rita, that everything was safe, and that life was good. Emma, we love you and will miss you dearly while we await your smile, once again, on a different spiritual plane in a different dimension.
