Erline Alois Brownfield was born on June 2, 1923 to Frank Rudolph Thompson & Lila May Geddis Thompson in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada and passed away at the age of 98 on March 13th, 2022.
She was the second oldest of six children. Erline grew up in Pacific Grove, California and was a 1942 graduate of Monterey High School. Following high school Erline married James Brownfield and had 4 beautiful children.
She worked for the humanities division of UCSC. She enjoyed golfing, gardening & spending time with family. She also was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority throughout her adult life and enjoyed friendships and community service activities. Erline’s friends and family will always remember her as a kind woman who was exceptionally hard working with a vibrancy for life that exceeded most.
Erline is preceded by her parents; sisters Elinor Brown, Deede Landers, Jacquelyn Menezes, brother Mervin Thompson and her daughter Pattie Noah.
She is survived by many loving family members, including her sister, Lila Stout, her three sons, Michael, Dennis & Terry; grandchildren, great grandchildren plus beloved nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Living Hope Church in Monterey on April 1st at 10:00 AM.
