Evelyn Marie Downing

June 1948 ~ July 2020

Evelyn Marie Thomas Downing, age 72 of Turlock, California passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2020. Evelyn was born in Merced, California and raised in Amsterdam, California. Evelyn married Harold Downing in 1968 and lived in Turlock for the last 52 years. Evelyn enjoyed cooking, coloring, arts, crafts, and loved having family over at her house.

Evelyn is survived by her husband of 52 years, Harold Downing; daughter, Shelly Downing Bonham; son, Sean Downing; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and two brothers, Eddie and Oral Thomas. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Higa Thomas; and siblings, Myron Thomas, Emily Huber, Bill Thomas, Beulah Stuart, and Louise Gay.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 10, 2020 from 6pm – 8pm at Allen Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2020, 10am also at Allen Mortuary.

You seemed to always have the best slumber parties for shelly and pick us up to crash them you were always fun and great to talk to about any problems good or bad always loved you and u will always be in my thoughts

We had many great times together..We we were young and going camping with our kids playing cards and laughing all nigh..That was some of the very best times of my life..Thanks for all the wonderful memoriesand always being so kind to Freddy and me..I will miss you so much my friend..You were a true gift to us all ..Hugs

Rest in peace Evelyn, Always in our hearts. We havent seen a lot of each other.But I always keep in my prayers and always will be in our hearts every day.I know you will be truly missed everday day. But God is so good that he knew that giving you Angel wings and letting you go home to the pearly gates of like no others place as beautiful in this world of the peaceful land that an amazing person can live and rest with no worries, no pain.No other place as in Gods land can we live internally.
